Stock shortages in our Port Elizabeth warehouse was attributed to human error until we received a tip off from a customer to the effect that some of our products were advertised for sale on OLX.
We appointed Justicia Investigations to handle the matter on our behalf. Within the space of a day they had tracked down the person selling the products with some of our stolen stock as well as the identity of two employees in the warehouse who were his suppliers. Further investigation revealed the weak link in our system which enabled these employees to remove stock undetected and furthermore three other employees, who were also stealing individually and not part of the syndicate, were exposed. The confessions elicited from all five employees were conclusive to the effect that none challenged their dismissals with the CCMA.
